This page explains how the This Is Pizza community handles information when you submit a pizza story. This draft must be checked against the services and settings used at launch before the site accepts public submissions.

What we collect

When you submit a story, we receive the display name, pizza title, location, written story, photo, and the time of submission. We also record your confirmation that you have permission to share the photo and let us feature it. We do not ask for an account or email address in the submission form.

Review and public display

Submissions are private while awaiting review. If approved, your display name, pizza title, location, story, and photo become publicly visible on the site. We may also feature approved stories on This Is Pizza social channels, as described in the submission permission. Do not include someone else’s private information in a story or photo.

Storage and service providers

For the production service, submissions are stored in Cloudflare D1 and R2 and protected from public access until approval. Cloudflare may process technical request data to deliver and secure the service. The preview also loads sample photos from Unsplash and typefaces from Google Fonts. Confirm the live provider list and use cleared assets before launch.

Removal or questions

You may ask us to remove a published story or withdraw your photo permission by contacting hello@thisispizza.com.au. We will use enough information to locate the submission and verify the request. Confirm that this mailbox is monitored before launch.

Retention

Published stories remain until removed. Rejected submissions and their image files are deleted when declined, and removal requests delete the story and photo. Unreviewed submissions are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Cookies and local preview

The development preview may use browser local storage for demo-only likes and submissions. The production version keeps stories on the server; optional reactions use a random browser identifier stored in your browser, while the server stores only a hash of that identifier. No account is required.
